Continuing Education Units
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are mandatory in most licensed professions at the state level. These hours play a crucial role in regulating and maintaining the health, safety, and innovation within our industry. CEUs not only help ensure our and our clients’ safety but also enhance our skills, increase our value, and improve our overall worth. Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts serves as your partner in progressing to the next level. We provide license sponsorship for beauty professionals in Illinois, including master education. Whether you’re a nail technician, esthetician, cosmetologist, braider, or master educator, we are your go-to education center, offering a wide range of in-person and independent courses. Our offerings include various skill-enhancing CEU courses, in-person or independent, as well as training on domestic violence and sexual harassment.
State of Illinois’ Requirements
Cosmetology
As a licensed Cosmetologist you are required in the state of Illinois to enroll for fourteen (14) CEU hours. Seven (7) of those hours can be done self-study, online, and/or independently, and the other seven (7) hours must be done in person hands on. One (1) of your Fourteen (14) CEU hours must be in sexual harassment. Sexual Harassment Training must be completed every renewal period. These Fourteen (14) hours of CEU requirements are due every two years during the renewal period.

Esthetician
As a licensed Esthetician, you are required in the state of Illinois to enroll for ten (10) CEU hours. Five (5) of those hours can be done self-study, online, and/or independently, and the other Five (5) hours must be done in person hands on. One (1) of your Ten (10) CEU hours must be in sexual harassment. Sexual Harassment Training must be completed every renewal period. These Ten (10) hours of CEU requirements are due every two years during the renewal period.

Hair Braider
As a licensed Hair Braider, you are required in the state of Illinois to enroll for ten (10) CEU hours. Five (5) of those hours can be done self-study, online, and/or independently, and the other Five (5) hours must be done in person hands on. One (1) of your Ten (10) CEU hours must be in sexual harassment. Sexual Harassment Training must be completed every renewal period. These Ten (10) hours of CEU requirements are due every two years during the renewal period.

Professional Educator
As a licensed Profession Educator, you are required in the state of Illinois to enroll for twenty (20) CEU hours. Ten (10) of those hours can be done self-study, online, and/or independently, and the other Ten (10) hours must be done in person hands on. One (1) of your Twenty (20) CEU hours must be in sexual harassment. Sexual Harassment Training must be completed every renewal period. These Twenty (20) hours of CEU requirements are due every two years during the renewal period.
