STUDENT

1. Students will participate in activities that include learning, hairdressing, sanitation, safety, and shop management care treatment performed on clients under the supervision of a licensed Cosmetologist/Braider in a registered salon. It is the cosmetologist’s discretion if the student will assist with clients or if students will be allowed to work on their own client.

 

2. Externs may only work under the Cosmetologist/Braider that is named in this contract that provides a copy of their cosmetology license, salon license and a salon/business insurance policy.

 

3. Students will maintain a grade average of at least 85 – 90 % and attendance average at least 90%.

 

4. Students will only receive credit for a maximum of 30 hours to go towards their 300 requirements to complete their Natural Hair and Braiding program.

 

5. Students will only receive credit for a maximum of 8 hours per day externing.

 

6. Students will understand that participating in an internship does not guarantee employment.

 

7. Students may NOT receive compensation or commission on services they performed or helped perform.

 

8. Students will be responsible for completing all forms and having hours verified and returned to Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts. All time sheets must be submitted on Monday of the previous week. Hours will not be accepted if they are more than a week old.

9. Students understand that salon visits may be conducted by a staff member of Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts before Internship program begins, and/or at any time during the Internship.

 

10. Students understand that Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts’ staff has the right to contact the above Cosmetologist/Braider that is listed on this contract concerning progress, attendance, appearance, and behavior at any time during the Internship.

 

11. Students will be removed from the Internship program for any action (while both in school and during Internship) that results in any disciplinary action.

 

Cosmetologist/Braider

 

1. Cosmetologists/Braiders will allow students to participate in activities that include learning, hairdressing, sanitation, safety, shop management, and hair treatment on clients under the supervision of the licensed Cosmetologist/Braider named in this contract. It is at the Cosmetologist’s/Braider’s discretion if students will only assist cosmetologist, or if students will be allowed to work on their own client.

 

2. Cosmetologist/Braider understand that they are taking responsibility for the student and their actions. Students must be under the direct supervision of the Cosmetologist/Braider named in this contract and they must be physically present. Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts and the student will not be held responsible for any damages resulting from the Internship.

 

3. The Cosmetologists/Braiders named in this contract will provide copies of their cosmetology license, salon license, and salon/business insurance to Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts.

 

4. Cosmetologists/Braiders will only give students credit for a maximum of 30 hours that will go towards the 300-hour requirement to complete the student’s natural care and braiding program.

 

5. Cosmetologists/Braiders will inform the school if they cannot supervise a student during a scheduled time.

 

6. Cosmetologists/Braiders understand that a student’s participation in an internship does not guarantee or require employment for the student.

 

7. Cosmetologists/Braiders understand students MAY NOT receive compensation or commission on services they perform or help perform. However, clients may still be charged. Externs CANNOT receive tips.

 

8. Cosmetologists/Braiders will help the students with their education and not use them solely for cleaning and reception duties.

 

9. Cosmetologists/Braiders are responsible for verifying student hours on forms provided to them.

 

10. Cosmetologists/Braiders understand that salon visits may be conducted by staff members of Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts before Internship programs begin, and/or at any time during the internship.

 

11. Cosmetologists/Braiders understand that the staff members of Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts will contact the Cosmetologist/Braider named in this contract at any time to check the progress, attendance, appearance, and/or behavior at any time during the internship.

 

12. Cosmetologists/Braiders report any absences from the school if the student is more than 15 minutes late.

 

13. Cosmetologists/Braiders must report any behavior that is dangerous, disruptive, unethical, or unprofessional to Next Level School of Cosmetology Arts’ student Administrative Office immediately. (217)572-1308 (Veris Van)
